Butterfly Camp near Old Rag Mountain SNP

Butterfly Camp is located on a 120-acre working farm in the heart of Madison County near Old Rag Mountain and Shenandoah National Park. 

Butterfly camp has one level tent pad and has the OPTION to add the glamping cabin. The cabin will not be booked separately if you choose to only tent camp. We are no longer offering Tipi tent rentals on the farm and this is our solution to accommodate those guests who which to glamp.

The space is very private, has mountain views and offers a campfire with cooking grill, small handwashing/dish sink, a small table and chairs, and a changing station with a portable toilet using biobags and a solar shower during warm weather.  

The glamping cabin which can be added at an additional cost per night is a perfect addition for two guests not wanting to setup a tent. The large covered porch offers a sitting area, outdoor kitchen space, and a covered solar shower stall. Inside it has a queen size memory foam bed, all linens are included, as well as cookout camping essentials, like cast iron, plates, cups, campfire coffee pots, and utensils. 

The cabin is pet friendly with a fee. Please note we have very strict regulations regarding other animals on our farm and all guests' pets, service animals, emotional support or any creatures that may be traveling with you, must be approved. This is a working farm, with livestock guardians, farm dogs and cats, and various livestock and poultry that can free roam.

Our farm is Certified Animal Welfare Approved and offers a small farm store, with our beef, chicken, pork, lamb, eggs and wool, as well as seasonal produce, charcuterie, plus lots of local and organic items. The farm offers walking trails, a pond, farm tours and experiences and access to our river property. 

Located just minutes to White Oak Canyon and Old Rag Mountain trailheads in Shenandoah National Park plus walking distance to a brewery and winery using our farm trails and backroads. 

Rental equipment, including tents, sleeping pads, camp stoves, hammocks and setup is available.
